I don’t know why it took me so long to take action, but Roboform has truly become my best friend in business!
Until about a year ago, I was not using any password manager! Then I got an email from another online marketer describing how one of her friends had been hacked on more than one website. Her friend had been using the same password on many of her websites. That’s why she was recommending Roboform, because it generates complex, automatic passwords for you.
Although I wasn’t using the same passwords across the web, I actually had a dozen of them memorized, and another couple dozen written down on a piece of paper. I was definitely using an archaic method. It’s actually very embarrassing to admit.
So although that is embarrassing, a number of you are still using the same password on many of your sites. You know who you are. 🙂 You will want to change that as soon as possible. You also want to avoid using words found in the dictionary. That is why I like Roboform. It generates a new string of letters and numbers each time.
Roboform is not absolutely perfect though, as it doesn’t always save the correct login page URL. However, I can later find the login information (username/password) manually within the program. This does mean that I have to edit things from time to time to correct the login page URL, but it’s still much better than my old system of memorization and a pad of paper! 🙂
Here’s a great free report with more ideas on why password management is so important.
